What happens to my Simmons email account?
Three months after graduation, all of your Simmons accounts will be disabled, including Google Apps, file server, AARC, Simmons eLearning, MySimmons, Library account and online resources, and access to your personal web space. In anticipation of graduation, you can set up an Alumnet email address, and forward your email to your new, permanent Alumnet account.
If you do not register for an Alumnet account, you can still forward your Simmons Gmail to another email account and you will continue to receive email while the forwarding is in place (3 months after graduation). For instructions on how to forward your email in Gmail, click here.
Should I set up an email auto-reply?
Yes, you should set up an email auto-reply to let people know that your email address is changing. Like email forwarding, the auto-reply will be active for 3 months after graduation. For more information on setting up an auto-reply using the Gmail vacation response function, click here.
